The Hazard Reduction and Recovery Center (HRRC) was established at Texas A&M University in 1988 as an interdisciplinary collaborative effort to contribute to our understanding of the nature and impact of hazards upon humans and the environment in which they live, and to increase our knowledge regarding hazard mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. In its past 30 years, HRRC faculty, staff and students have generated basic and applied research at that forefront of disaster planning. The HRRC was the first and is still one of the only center dedicated to researching vulnerability reduction and long-term recovery. We hold a unique place in urban planning and landscape architecture fields.
To celebrate our 30th anniversary, starting Oct 15th, 2019. We will begin to share with you some of our highlighted publications throughout the years, including classics in the field, some hidden gems, and scholars and papers leading the future of the field.
